Wander with Minds with Motion

Healing through nature, rhythm, and presence

Movement has always been one of the most natural ways humans connect — with themselves, with others, and with the world around them.

That’s exactly what Minds with Motion has captured through their beautiful community program, Wander — a sensory-friendly, inclusive movement experience that invites people of all abilities to reconnect through walking, rhythm, and mindful play.

What Wander Is

Wander is not your typical walk. It’s an intentional experience designed to calm the nervous system, awaken creativity, and build connection through the healing rhythm of motion.

Led by Minds with Motion, an organization that blends art, movement, and mental health awareness, Wander events bring together community members from all walks of life — veterans, caregivers, artists, families, and neurodivergent individuals — to explore what happens when we move with purpose and curiosity.

Each Wander session might include:

  • Gentle mindful walks through natural spaces

  • Drumming, rhythm, and breathwork for sensory regulation

  • Collaborative art that turns movement into creative expression

  • Community connection, allowing people to heal side by side

It’s movement as medicine.

Not about performance — about presence.

Why This Speaks to Us

Our Thoughtful Motion™ branch was built around the same belief: that regulation begins in the body, and healing begins when we move together.

As a veteran family living with PTSD, chronic pain, PMDD, and sensory needs, we’ve learned that sometimes the best therapy doesn’t happen in an office — it happens outside, in rhythm, in community, and in motion.

That’s why Wander resonates so deeply. It’s the kind of project that reminds us how powerful simple, shared movement can be.

About Minds with Motion

Founded by Wanda Lee, Minds with Motion is a social-engaged arts organization offering inclusive movement programs, creative workshops, and rhythmic community events. Their mission is to help individuals of all abilities and backgrounds experience healing through movement, music, and art.

Wanda’s work bridges mental health awareness, embodied regulation, and creative connection — and she was also once Megan’s floor-time facilitator, helping her regulate through rhythm long before Thoughtfultini™ was born.

Walk With Us

We’re honored to highlight Wander as part of our growing Thoughtful Motion™ branch — and we hope you’ll take a walk with them (or us) soon.

If you’re a movement educator, yoga or dance instructor, musician, or therapist using rhythm and nature to support regulation, we’d love to collaborate with you.

This branch is just beginning to grow, and Minds with Motion is showing us the path forward — one mindful step at a time.
