A Generation Between Footprints

I love watching rockets launch from the beach. The flame. The pause before the sound. The way it feels like the future. Only twelve humans have ever walked on the Moon. All of them did it more than fifty years ago.

As we prepare to send the next generation back, we are not just carrying better rockets and better computers. We are carrying memory, judgment, and new kinds of intelligence we have never taken with us before.
